PHBS Financial Media Summer School
Peking University HSBC Business School is holding the 2nd Financial Media Summer School between 8th and 19th July 2019 at its UK Campus in beautiful Oxfordshire. The PHBS Financial Media Summer School launched in 2018 to offer a unique learning platform for cutting-edge research in the specialist field of media. The aim of the training is to foster a truly international perspective on the dynamic world of media through face-to-face engagement with the world’s leading media specialists and companies, and to cultivate vibrant dialogue with China’s media.
In 2018, 14 students from the MA Financial Media programme at PHBS attended lectures offered by well-known scholars from famous universities including Oxford University, and King's College London. The lectures covered a variety of topics ranging from Brexit, British media, branding and block chain technology. The Financial Media Summer School also arranged visits to the BBC, The Economist and Bloomberg, and exchanged ideas in open discussions with world-leading, senior editors and journalists.
This year, the PHBS Financial Media Summer School will continue to build on the success of last year, by inviting eminent scholars from the UK’s top universities including Oxford University, London School of Economics and Edinburgh University to deliver an exciting range of lectures on algorithms, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and the utilization of new technology in social media interaction. As with last year, visits to and discussions with editors from BBC and other leading media companies will be scheduled.
